Rock Camp for Girls* Montreal, in partnership with GIV, offered a series of eight workshops in video and sound during the Winter 2017 term. This series of two-hour workshops gave participants a chance to explore video art and sound as a creative media. The first two workshops focused on getting to know some of the important work created by female and gender non-conforming video artists internationally and locally by looking at artists based in Montreal and distributed by GIV since 1975. The idea was to inspire participants in their research and creativity development. These were followed by four workshops in video-making where campers learned how to make a video with a hands-on approach and then four workshops in sound creation where they built instruments and other sound devices and learn how to create and record a soundtrack. The workshops were completely FREE!

Stay tuned for more year-long programming for Winter 2018!
