What Is Rock Camp For Girls summer camp?
Rock Camp for Girls and Gender Nonconforming Youth Montreal’s main program is a week long music camp where campers learn to play an instrument, form a band, write an original song, and perform live at the Showcase Concert! RCFG* is a space where girls discover and express their talents, and become leaders in creating their own kind of music! The instrument choices are guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or vocals.
In addition to working on music, we offer workshops about self-esteem and leadership development. Topics that have been offered at RCFG* include self-defense, ‘zine making, media literacy and critical thinking, do it yourself booking, silk-screening, image and identity.
This is a great chance to meet other youth and musicians in the Montreal community and show off your new skills!

- You do not have to live in Montreal to attend!*

When Does The Camp Take Place?
In 2017, camp happened from July 24 to 30.
This year we have offered campers two opportunities to meet other campers and volunteers before camp starts. Dates and details will be announced in June.
The camp runs Monday through Friday as a day camp. Our final showcase at La Sala Rossa, where friends and family come see the final performance, happens July 29.
Our recording day at Hotel2Tango happens Sunday July 30, where bands record their song!
Where Does The Camp Take Place?
La Sala Rossa — but we are looking for a new accessible venue for next year! Give us a shout if you know one as cool as Sala but physically accessible!
How To Apply?
Applications are now closed. Stay tuned for Camp 2018!
